ABOUT THE ARTIST

Anne Bulmer Brewer is an
emerging goldsmith and artist that uses her medium as a canvas – and we mean that
literally. The keystone pieces in
each of her collections are rectangular in shape, abstractly framed and remind
us of art we would find displayed on a wall but are perfectly designed for her
miniature medium – jewelry.
For the subjects of her work, Anne Bulmer Brewer
seeks and finds “Oh!” moments – moments we experience not only visually,
but in our “gut”. Anne’s goal is
to capture shared experiences across social, economic and geographic
“boundaries.” Anne’s discovered
“Oh” moments also share another common thread - they capture past, present and
future in a single frame. Anne's artistry distills these moments into a few visual cues designed to reach deep within the viewer.
As in the Buddhist statement that “one can never
step in the same river twice,” Anne brings us meditation images that allow us
to experience a different place in our own hearts, lives and journeys each time
her images are reflected upon.
Each piece reminds us we are simultanously bigger and smaller than our daily life experiences.
